Student Privacy Statement

Courses that have content material and/or assessments either partially or entirely online require that students have a unique ID and password to access the material.  This is to protect student privacy and verify student identity.

 

Registered?  What do you do now?

Complete the following steps to get access to your course through D2L.

Step 1:  Establish your WebAdvisor account.  Go to https://wa-sdsu.prod.sdbor.edu/WebAdvisor/webadvisor and select I'm New to WebAdvisor.  Login to WebAdvisor, select Students, click My Profile from the Academic Profile links.  Obtain your student id number.  You will need this along with your WebAdvisor ID to access the following accounts.  You will also be able to view your billing information through WebAdvisor from the Students menu.

Step 2:  Activate your jacks e-mail account.  Go to http://mystateonline.sdstate.edu and select Jacks email activation instructions.  Follow the instructions to activate your account.  You will need your student id that you obtained above for the temporary password.

Step 3:  Establish your MyStateOnline account.  Go to http://mystateonline.sdstate.edu.  Your username will be your WebAdvisor ID and your password will be $ and your student id, ex. $1234567.

Step 4:  Create your D2L password.  You will receive an email confirming your course enrollment from D2L.  This e-mail will include steps for establishing your D2L password.  D2L will use your WebAdvisor ID as the username.  If you want to establish your password before receiving the e-mail you can go to http://d2l.sdbor.edu and select I'm new to D2L.  This will walk you through the process.  Once your account has been setup you can login to D2L; however, your course will not appear until the first scheduled day of class.

Other items to take care of:

Before classes start you will want to obtain any required textbooks for the class(es).  You can order your books online through the University Bookstore at http://www.sdstatebookstore.com.

You will not receive a bill in the mail, but you can check your statement and make payments through WebAdvisor.  Select Students and SDePay/View Account.
